Transfer Her Attention

Miaomiao’s fever has gone. And after a night’s sleep, She feels better and has good energy as usual.
After breakfast for a while, she runs and jumps around the house with me for about half an hour. And then she sits on the sofa and starts to color her pictures book. She colors for a while and asks me to color one picture for her. I ask her to wait for a while as i’m busy. She continues to color pictures by herself for a while and then her grandma joins in. She colors picture by Miaomiao’s water color pens beside. After a while, i want to go to the toilet, so does Miaomiao. So i take her to the toilet and help her take off and put on her pants. But she asks me to go out with her and not to pee after that. I go to the doorway of the toilet with her. “Miaomiao, your grandma is still coloring pictures, just go and see.” I tell her then. She looks to her grandma immediately and runs to see her grandma coloring on the sofa. Then i return to toilet alone.

After lunch, she still doesn’t want me to pee after she finishes hers with my help. I go to the doorway of the toilet with her again this time. “Miaomiao, look at the fish in the fish tank, it’s hungry. So can you feed it with your granpa?” She looks at the fish and then runs to her granpa this time. And i go back to toilet again.

Sometimes, facing kid’s unreasonable demands, transfering her attention is an fast and effective way to let her forget her current demands if she doesn’t listen to you.
