Dora Comes To Play

It’s really hot today. So we all plan to stay at home during the day and take Miaomiao to play outside after supper. Miaomiao plays on the bamboo mat in the living room after breakfast with her grandma. Her grandpa goes out to throw the trash. The doorbell runs after a while, Miaomiao’s grandpa comes back, as well as grandpa Gao who lives upstairs and her granddaughter Dora.

Grandpa Gao plans to take Dora out to play. He meets Miaomiao’s grandpa on the stairs. Then Miaomiao’s grandpa invites him to come to our home so that Dora can play with Miaomiao.

Dora has been two years old this April. She is much smaller than Miaomiao. She looks at Miaomiao for sevral seconds at the beginning and then walks to fetch Miaomiao’s magnetic building blocks to play on the bamboo mat. Miaomiao smiles to Dora when she sees her. But then she starts to play her other toys by herself while her grandma talks to Dora. She also gives her toys to Dora to play sometimes.

Dora’s grandma comes here later to urge Dora and her grandma to go out soon. So Dora and her grandpa leave. Miaomiao is still playing by herself and doesn’t wave or say goodbye to Dora and her grandpa even if we ask her to. I think this maybe because she is not familiar with Dora. I still remember when her playmates Tommy or Bean left our home in Wuhan, she always waved and said goodbye to them. That is because she was much familiar with them and often played together with them.

Playing with familiar friends often will have more fun. Hope she can make friends with Dora soon and get along with other kids well in the kindergarten in the future.
