Before Miaomiao was born i have read many related books about baby feeds and baby care, so i knew the multiple benifits of breastfeeding for mothers and babies.

So after Miaomiao was born, i fed Miaomiao myself, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and then added complementary feeding after six months. And when she grew older, she could eat more and more kinds of food, and breast milk gradually became her complementary dessert, not much but necessary. During the early period, Miaomiao and i have came across many difficulties and tough times for breastfeeding, but we all overcame and enjoyed our happy times.
When Miaomiao was over two years old, i knew it was time for her to wean. But Miaomiao refused. And most importantly, she even didn’t know how to sleep if without breastfeeding. As she had been accustomed to sleep in my arms with mother’s breast milk. So it’s not easy to help Miaomiao wean and this period lasted long.
Till now, two year and nine months old, she also loves breastfeeding and loves the feeling that be held in my arms. But sometimes she can sleep by listening to the counting numbers of rabbits by me, or can sleep by herself if she is too tired. And also she is agreed to drink some milk often as complementary dessert at present. Uneasy progress.
But she is still unwilling to say goodbye to breastfeeding and is missing so much if leaves it for sevral days, just like tonight. And she also appears to be more cling to me and more likely to lose temper during this period. I think actually she also knows that she is old enough to leave breastfeeding, she just isn’t willing to.
Maybe she can pass this period and be more independent soon. Or maybe it also need some time for her to say goodbye to mother’s breast milk. Maybe my worry is unnecessary, as she will grow up sooner or later, she wouldn’t be always little kid. What i can do is to have more patience and accompany to her.
